Harivaṁśa Dāsa (Dr. Himanshu Asnani) is an author, researcher, and translator.
His latest work—The Forest of Love—a historical novel set in 16th century Mughal India is a captivating tale of love, identity, and spiritual awakening, navigating the turbulence of Akbar’s expanding empire, the unwavering valor of Rajputana, and the blossoming spiritual renaissance in Vrindavan.
Spiritual & Academic Journey
His maternal family roots are from Vrndavana, where he stays when not traveling, actively researching in the areas of Vaishnava philosophy, Gaudiya history, social psychology, and linguistics. During travels, he keenly interacts with congregation, corporate and university audiences in India and abroad through seminars and workshops. He is a member of BTG India Editorial Board and assists HH Bhanu Swami Maharaja and HH Sivarama Swami Maharaja in their book projects through translations and research.

Professional Experience
Prior to his current full-time involvement in ISKCON, he held full-time faculty appointment in the School of Technology and Computer Science (STCS) at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai and visiting appointments at the University of Washington-Seattle, Stanford University, and IIT Bombay. He had received his B.Tech. from IIT Bombay (IIT JEE Mains All India Rank 4, IIT JEE Screening All India Rank 1) and M.S. and PhD from Stanford University, all in Electrical Engineering, winning multiple national and international level awards. After his post-graduation he had worked in Ericsson Silicon Valley following which he briefly got involved in some of his edu-startups.
